Tangram consists of seven pieces: a square, a parallelogram, two large equal triangles, a medium triangle and two small triangles. Among the pieces of the Tangram there are a large number of geometric relationships.
Relationship between areas:
- the large triangle has an area that is twice that of the medium triangle;
- the medium triangle, square and parallelogram have same area;
- the triangle average area that is twice that of the small triangle.
angle measurements:
- the square, obviously, has the four angles of 90 °;
- the parallelogram has two angles of 45 ° and two of 135 °
- five are isosceles triangles and rectangles, for which each have a 90 degree angle and two 45 °.
Relations between the sides:
- the catheter of the large triangle has the same average length of the hypotenuse of the triangle;
- the catheter of the triangle has the same average length of the hypotenuse of the triangle is small, the diagonal of the square and one side of the parallelogram;
- the catheter of the small triangle has the same length of the side and square ' other side of the parallelogram.
These reports, among the side lengths and angle measurements, are those that make possible the construction of the various ways in many combinations.
